Computers I
Computers I is a recommended CTE course for the Accounting Pathway. Students learn to use information technology tools to access, manage, integrate and create information. Computers I is a lab class that requires students to build and program Lego robots during the first semester. Students then learn to utilize Adobe InDesign and PhotoShop the second semester. Upon completing Computers I students will have developed knowledge and skills as follows:

- Develop logical thought processes using flowcharts
- Build robots using pre-established designs
- Develop computer programs using Lego drag and drop block programs to perform desired functions
- Evaluate computer programs to identify errors and correct errors.
- PhotoShop – Students learn to enhance pictures and create original digital pictures utilizing the features of PhotoShop. Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to repair damaged pictures, remove objects from an image, re-color pictures, and create original images by combining previous digital images and creating new backgrounds.

- InDesign – Desktop publishing concepts are introduced to the students utilizing InDesign CS3. Students integrate the use of Word, PhotoShop, and InDesign in as they create original brochures, newsletters, flyers, magazine covers, and miniature yearbooks.
- PhotoShop – Students learn to enhance pictures and create original digital pictures utilizing the features of PhotoShop. Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to repair damaged pictures, remove objects from an image, re-color pictures, and create original images by combining previous digital images and creating new backgrounds.
