Personal Finance is designed for all high school students. This course is designed to teach students how to maintain, control, and plan the use of financial resources through all of the stages of the financial life cycle. Students also develop an awareness of the value of setting goals to achieve career and financial goals. Through classroom discussion, simulated activities, and Internet research, students recognize the importance of employability skills needed to obtain and keep a job. In order to better prepare students for today’s workforce, students utilize a variety of Microsoft Office applications and Web 2.0 tools to present information and collaborate on group activities.
Students enrolled in Personal Finance complete more in-depth research into potential career opportunities in the accounting industry through class discussions and Internet research utilizing the Montana Career Information System (http://mtcis.intocareers.org) and the Occupational Outlook Handbook (http://www.bls.gov) sites. |
